She has loads of talent and I find it a bit surprising that we don't see her name mentioned more in the jazz press. I guess that's always been the bane of solo artists.
I'm a big fan of Joe Pass but don't think that she is a Joe Pass clone (I don't even think that is possible) but she approaches these standards with a fresh interpretation that lends respect to the well known arrangements but has her voice up front and it's wonderful." |
