"If your kids haven't joined Mike's pirate crew, then what are you waiting for? We've seen Mike Mennard three times in person and its always been a hoot. Often his humor is of the "yuck!" variety, which pleases my eight year old son greatly, but it isn't extreme (I saw some candy for sale once called "Liquid Boogers", you get the idea). This CD developes the pirate theme, giving many names of real pirates and a little history imbedded in the lyrics. The production is first rate and the musicians are excellent. Some friends of ours have an eight year old daughter who knows many-many of Mike's songs. We compared notes recently and had to laugh/groan at how many times we've listened to the CD's on the way to school. Tonight my son was drumming along on an old food canister and asked me if we couldn't keep the cannister in the car so he could "play" along with the CD tommorrow! The songs are kookie, absurd and loveable, all at the same time. But as the adult who must listen while driving, I find them entertaining even after repeated listening."
