"Virtuosity Dot Com voted Mike Florio "Best new artist of 2006" and not without cause! Start with strong songwriting, add excellent vocals, a nice variety of keyboard sounds, thoughtful lyrics and then package it with a stunning clarity of production that is rarely found in independent releases. You get Mike Florio's debut CD "Arisen"!

This album is top-notch "art-rock". I was going to give this 4 stars but upon reflection, what more could I honestly *ask* for?

Would bombastic ELP-ish keys make this collection of songs stronger? No.

Would monster drumming from someone like Mike Portnoy take this music to the "next level"? Well - OK - maybe it would! ;-) But hey - Portnoy has a *busy* schedule!

Seriously, Florio is very content to leave the "monster" instrumentation to others... Think *tasteful* virtuosity!

Subtle, sensitive, emotional, powerful... If you like Kansas "Leftoverture" or "Point of Know Return", do yourself a favor and listen to the samples. Odds are, you'll be *hooked*!

And check out the nice value price for this *new* CD! That seals it!

5 Stars it is!!
