Crazy about String Crazy

"Mike Dowling has had songs covered by Kathy Mattea, toured with Vassar Clements and Jethro Burns, and studied with George Barnes. But he is at his best with old instruments and old tunes, or tunes that he writes that sound like old tunes. Sting Crazy is one of his strongest efforts, with Mike playing all of the instruments including amazing finger-style guitar, different resophonic guitars, bass, and even a little mandolin. He respectfully reworks old standards, and adds several of his own new songs that have a similar feel. His voice is smooth and strong, and you won't find a better or more tasteful guitarist."
