"Step right up for the Unholy Grail of Moorcockian Metal Mayhem. Nice to see Michael's modern gothic masterpiece on an expanded CD - and at such a ludicrous price. Thanks, Amazon. This is a timeless album, and a tribute to Moorcock's musical as well as literary genius. The haunting Circus of Death feel that permeates the album brilliantly captures the simmering desperation of the occupants of yet another artificially sustained environment - The New World's Fair. While the punters party like it's way beyond 1999, their Masque Of The Red Death style celebration is doomed by another metaphorical plague - the spectre of nuclear, chemical and biological annihilation. The inevitable legacy of a soulless totalitarian psytocracy.Backed by an awesome array of musicians, including members of Hawkwind and High Tide, MM proves over and over again that Deep Fixx - the Art band who imitated Life - are a force to be reckoned with.As one might expect from the Master, this is truly a white knuckle ride to the Gates of Oblivion."

"'New World's Fair' was originally put out in 1975,a time when Moorcock had become an on-again and off-again member/recitalist for Hawkwind. As most of you probably DO know,Moorcock is a world reknown and respected sci-fi writer and an occasional musician. From the various bootleg CD/cassette lists I've seen before,it would indicate that the Deep Fix had played very few, maybe twenty-minute sets at a couple of sci-fi and comic book conventions.I've been told by a VERY reliable source that Moorcock TOTALLY hates to tour.He will, however show up every now and again as guest vocalist for,say a Hawkwind or a Nik Turner gig. Some of the better tracks off this CD reissue are "16 Year Old Doom",the well played "Starcruiser","Last Merry Go Round" and "Brothel In Rosenstrasse".One thing I don't get is there are fifteen tunes on the track listing, but when you stick the disc in your player,it registers at twenty-two tracks.Go Figure. The music here is,the best way that I could describe it is 'mediocre progressive'.Not bad, just NOT real great either."

"I have had this on tape and enjoyed it immensely! A simulated adventure and safely metaphoric drugless drug-trip all in one! `Isn't it delicious...'! I welcome the opportunity to get the expanded CD version!"
