Great Electric Bluesman

"Michael Burks is an awesome combination of soulful blues singing and fiery guitar licks. He is a great blues story teller and the songs on this album demonstrate his talents. I think that Michael Burks and Larry McCray (another unheralded blue phenomenon) offer a good glimpse at the future of the blues."

"I saw this guy about a month ago in concert at a small club. He blew me away, I hadn;t heard of him before this, now i am telling everyone about him. His tone is incredible, has been likened to that of Albert King, well he does an astounding job upholding this feat. Not only his tone is great, but his powerful licks are something else too. Be on the look out for this guy in your area, he is down right great. And this CD captures that power and tone beautifully. Check him out people."

"I saw Michael Burks live at the Santa Cruz Blues Festival and bought this CD on the spot. I really like this CD. He is true to the tradition of blues, but he brings a bit of his own style as well. It not the same old tired blues stuff. ... and it makes you feel good about the future of blues.In the middle of his set he broke into a long version of "Who Knows." Michael, if you are reading this, you have to record that number!!! It was amazing!"
