Synopsis

Album Description
Welcome to the Playlist series. We've fished through hundreds of tracks to cherry pick the perfect playlists. Not just the hits, but...the life-changing songs. The out-of-print tracks. The fan favorites everyone loves. The songs that make the artists who they are. You'll no doubt enjoy the sound of the beautifully remastered songs on this CD, unlike the compromised sound of an MP3 file.

You might also like the fact that the packages are environmentally-friendly (no plastic, 100% recycled paper). But we think the thing you'll appreciate most about this Playlist is that even though you didn't make it, you might wish you did. This package has been created with the environment in mind. All of the paperboard is 100% recycled and 100% recyclable. Of course, we would prefer that you not throw this package or CD away. We would prefer that you keep it in your collection to enjoy for many years to come! Full liner notes, photos, and more included as a PDF file on this CD. Enjoy!

CD Reviews

Missing Bolton Now
Michael Kerner | Brooklyn, New York U.S.A. | 09/17/2009
(2 out of 5 stars)

"When it has came down to Michael Bolton, he just has not had reintroduced himself musically into the spotlight the past several years. While he has shown that he hasn't been able to get passed his days with Sony, or have the exact same commercial status, yet he still has been able to record many great days in the spotlight. Sadly though, there have been many different hits compilations of Michael Bolton's that just honestly haven't been able to reintroduce himself very well to a whole new generation of fans. It has been a shame, but also shows why his sales have not been at par, even with what he has done independently on his own too. Now, another Michael Bolton hits collection is out right now, and again it misses the mark by a absolutely large longshot.

Playlist: The Very Best Of Michael Bolton isn't exactly the very best of what Michael Bolton had brought into the music industry in the 80's and his 90's status. While the songs have been remastered well, the collection really doesn't even try to measure up at all, but leaves hard core fans also feeling high and dry. The collection does include some of Bolton's big hits including How Am I Suppose To Live Without You, Steel Bars, and When A Man Loves A Woman, nevertheless there honestly are a lot of his biggest hits that aren't even packaged as a part of his Playlist compilation. It is a dissapointment that a lot of Michael Bolton's biggest standards aren't even recognized here like Love Is A Wonderful Thing, Time Love & Tenderness, That's What Love Is All About and Said I Love You (But I Lied.) Instead a lot of his lesser-known songs are highlighted like his cover of Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing, and Only A Woman Like You.

All in all, Playlist: The Very Best Of Michael Bolton isn't exactly a must buy for hard core fans, nor does it place itself completely as a strong reintroduction to Michael Bolton for the new listener either. Instead, there are honestly much better Michael Bolton compilations that are worth buying like Michael Bolton's Greatest Hits 1985-1995 as a better bet. This collection could've showed more Time, Love & Tenderness and instead says "Said I Loved You, and it absoluetly lies."
