An Ablolute Gem From An Amazing Songwriter!
Mark Abrahamsen | Desolation Row | 10/20/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I originally saw Micah when he opened for David Bazan (Pedro the Lion) a few months ago, and he was amazing. In fact, I saw him do the sound check before the show started, and talked to him a bit about music and everything (really great guy). From there on, I've been a fan of his, he just keeps getting a whole lot better with every record (you should get his other records, too). "...and the Opera Circut" is an absolutely amazing record. The added arangments suit his songs and voice perfectly, they don't overwhelm and/or distract. My favorite songs from the record are is the beatutiful granduar of "Jackeyed", the lush, lively "Diggin A Grave" and the intimate "Drift Off To Sleep". This record is an absolute gem, just do yourself a favor and buy it."
A real treasure

"I first heard of Hinson when the local college radio station played a couple songs from the Opera Circuit. I haven't been so impressed in a long time. I picked the album up a couple days ago and am absolutly in love with it. Great lyrics and use of instruments that are seldom combined in one style. So few people use the underrated sound of the banjo and Hinson uses it to great effect along with cello, violins and horns. Hinson's voice is another great standout, sort of a softer version of Tom Waits. If you're looking to get drunk and pine over lost loves, this is the album you want to be listening to. I highly recommend picking up this album before Hinson becomes another name brand. Hopefully he won't."
Great Album

"This album is great. An excellent range of music that truly showcases his talent as a musician and his songwriting abilities."
