(5 out of 5 stars)

"Edwyn Collins and Bernard Butler have worked sonic wonders before on Edwyn's CD singles for "If You Could Love Me". On the three-track single of "Message For Jojo", Bernard takes the lead vocals but the production is unmistakably Edwyn's. The title track has a nice loose feel, reminiscent of the Traveling Wilburys. "Can't Do That (The Hoover)" has a heavy "death march" tempo and builds to a crescendo both musically and emotionally. Bernard Butler's voice shows greater range and power at the end than is evidenced on his two previous solo albums. The last track, "Clean", is a lush ballad with Edwyn's trademark synth sounds and more fine singing from Bernard. Fans of either artist will want to check this one out, and it's also highly recommended to anyone who enjoys fine British pop."
