Synopsis

Album Description
Nuclear Blast continues our Meshuggah worship, this time with a reloaded reissue of their 1991 full-length debut album! This album is a brutal blueprint of the chaos to come and now includes tracks from the True Human Design EP as well as remakes of songs from their 1989 self-titled EP (nicknamed Psykisk Testbild). Housed in a Super Jewel Case with tons of bonus material, this is vital material for any longtime Meshuggah fan, and a proper introduction to their older material for new fans gained during their highly successful campaigns for 2002's Nothing and 2008's monster, obZen!

Old School Meshuggah

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Great album. Really it's a full length album and an EP on 1 disk. Must have for any Meshuggah fan. It is good even as an introduction to Meshuggah for fans of other types of metal. Newer albums like obZen may be too "harsh" or "extreme" for some. Like all Meshuggah tunes much of the CD is very "math metal" oriented but this disk is more likely to please the thrash/groove inclined metal heads. It also has some extremely jazz-infused moments. Highly recommended. I might have given it five stars but I reserve that for my most favorite items."
