CD Reviews

MEGAHERZ in the USA
Betsy Koenigsberg | Seattle, WA USA | 03/13/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"MEGAHERZ 1 is the USA release of the album entitled WER BIST DU, which was previously released in Germany in June of 1997. The USA release contains the same tracklisting as the 1997 release. The good news with this release is that it will be less of a hassle to get a hold of and less expensive than its import "twin". The bad news is that the CD booklet is rather skimpy and was re-printed excluding the song text. No problem! Full text and English translations are available at the band's .com website.Even though this CD is a reissue, the songs contained on this CD include some absolutely timeless gems. "Gott sein" may be the single most recognized MEGAHERZ song, as a result of downloading from the Internet. If you are a longtime fan of MEGAHERZ, this may be a good opportunity to get a hold of a fresh copy of this classic at a great price. If you have never purchased a MEGAHERZ CD due to high import pricing, now is your chance!"
Good band

"If you like german bands like rammstein, then you'll like megaherz, I find megaherz to be a more faster pace lyrically, the guitar is great, the lyrics can go kinda fast at times but that gives it more energy. I'm hooked on their music, they rock!!"
Deutsche Musik um Besten

"Upon comparing this band with Rammstein as well as Oomph!!!, I would argue that these three bands all have their equal merits. Rammstein appeals to the soul with entertaining, poetic lyrics and nearly perfect fluency with riffs. Oomph!!! is comparable to Rammstein in that the flow is very similar and the main difference is the content of lyrics in the songs...in my opinion, Oomph is not as hardcore as Rammstein. Megaherz is unique for singing about God in many of their songs and for many songs in which S & M is directly mentioned or hinted at. Despite the repetetiveness of several songs, they all stand out as wonderful songs on their own right. My favorite songs are (in order):

1.Es tut weh

2.Gott Sein

3.Herz aus Stein

4.Kopfschuss
