A musical gift from a Greek goddess

"In a large classical guitar collection, this one stands out. Ms. Kotzia presents a program of British composers inspired by Greek culture along side guitar music by indigenous Greek composers. The result is a fascinating exploration of the colors, rhythms and timbres of the Eastern Mediterranean. The recorded premiere of John Tavener's "Chant", a meditation on an ancient Byzantine hymn, closes a program that is original and mesmerizing.
