Got this CD since I like AlterBridge and was really surprised at the quality of the songs on this disc.

What a voice

"Myles Kennedy is probably better known now as the lead singer of post-Creed band Alter Bridge. However he already has a distingished career if not lesser known as the lead singer of a variety of bands. One of those is The Mayfield Four and this is their best album. Its radio rock mostly but Myles' voice sets the band apart. In "Summergirl" he reaches Geoff Tate heights and he has unbelievable control and power. Great songwriting and an album that everyone should own."
One hidden diamond of our time

"The very first thing you notice is the sound: It's MORE. The guitars are heavier, fatter and more distorted than ever, drums kick fast. In general this album sounds "louder" than MF's previous release, with the songs amplifying both its "hard" and "i'm down" moments. Myles' talent and voice have come unchanged on this one, making Mayfield Four one of the best (and i do mean BEST!) rock bands around. Yeah that's true, Second Skin sounds a little more "production-oriented" than Fallout, but this turned to be a key point to maximize the stream of such desperate outlets as "Flatley's Crutch", "Sick and Wrong", "Carry On". This pack of songs probably would have been far less impressive with Fallout's production and don't forget only Myles plays guitar on this one, because of Johnson's departure, so a little "change of sound" was expected. In the end, a beautiful record who tells about feelings, everyday life, and sick love.
My advice is NOT TO MISS THIS ONE!"
