CD Reviews

Wow, They are back, WOO HOO!!
Hannah G. | Minneapolis, MN> | 07/10/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This will get your day going, this band is so much fun and this album really is emotionally strong.

This is a great example of a cd/band that will get your friends who say " i do do not like jazz or i don't get it" to say. "Wow this is fun, this is jazz?""
Can't connect with this CD

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Matt Wilson is a very respected musician with a great knowledge of jazz, so my rating is a reflection of my own inability to connect with this music. Perhaps I'm influenced by seeing Matt and Bill Frisell (one of my favorite guitarists) at the Monterey Jazz Festival. I certainly don't want to be critical of such talented people, but they seemed to connect with each other but not the audience. Folks didn't get it and were walking out the entire time. That made me sad but I only sat there because I was waiting for some of the magic Bill can bring. It didn't happen.

I'll still follow Matt's work with the hope that a future CD will open my mind.

So, for me, the only mark this CD left was a "?" as in Huh?

We all connect to different music, so this isnt' to say others won't find this wonderful stuff."
