Synopsis

Album Description
MATT MINGLEWOOD is a powerful performer who never gives less than everything he has each time he takes the stage. After ten albums and twenty years of touring from Cape Breton to Vancouver, Europe and across the United States he has earned the respect and loyalty of thousands of devoted fans who love more than just his music ------they love his heart. Over the years, Minglewood has sold more than 350,000 records in Canada alone and earned three gold awards and two Juno nominations, two Canadian Country Music nominations, Lifetime Achievement Award from the East Coast Music Association and Canadian Country Music Songwriter of the Year award for Me and The Boys. This is the tenth full length album from Canada's Maritimes blues-rock legend Matt Minglewood.

CD Reviews

Best blues/rock/country since SRV himself!
red curtis | ottawa, ontario, canada | 11/01/2000

"Rabid Matt Minglewood fans have waited a long time for this album, and was it ever worth the wait! From the beginnings of "how high" to the title track, the listener gets that unbeleivable blend of country/rock/blues that only Matt can deliver. From his original tunes, to the blues standards, to the lenny gallant penned "black spruce river", Drivin' wheel is a must have in anybody's collection.Buy it, listen to it, and you will be an instant fan of a brilliant musician/singer/songwriter. (And don't forget to go see Minglewood live whenever you can!)"
Cd of the year

"it was a long wait, but it was worth it. this is the cd of the year. it is of international quality. it won't be long before the rest of the world catches on. i am sure matt has alot more songs bottled up inside of him, let's hope the next cd isn't as long of a wait. matt is the hardest working musician in canada. if he comes to a town near you, go to the show you won't be disapointed. keep up the good work matt."
Classic Minglewood!

"Minglewood fans, rejoice! Matt and the boys have released their long-awaited new album, and it is a classic! Fabulous new material includes "I Wanna Be Your Man", "Darkest Shade of Blue", "Travellin' Man" and my favourite, "Cape Crusader". With a driving beat typical of much of his live work, "Cape Crusader" is autobiographical ("You can call me Matt, you can call me Roy, I'm the Cape Crusader, I'm a Good Ole Boy") and is in the true Minglewood spirit. Anyone who has been on the road and lonesome for home will relate to "Travellin' Man"--it will grip your heart and remind you of the daily life of dedicated musicians like Matt and the band. Maybe the best of all, though, for true Minglewood aficiondos, are the very popular back-to-back tunes, "Hughie T. & Annie Lizzie" and "Somebody Help Me"--they will no doubt evoke memories of those great times had at live Minglewood performances. I highly recommend this album anyone who loves rock and blues but especially to all those Minglewood fans. And, by the way, no Maritimer should be without it!"
