CD Reviews'George Harrison of Counting Crows' Frank Burrell | Aurora, Illinois | 10/17/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "Matt Malley helped found the hit group "Counting Crows" and was their bass player for 14 years. Leaving the band in 2004, he embarked on a solo career. This is his first CD and it's nothing short of fantastic. While its inspiration undeniably came from Malley's interest in Eastern/Indian music, almost all of the songs here are performed on Western-style instruments -- guitars, piano, bass, all played by Malley himself -- and the result is close to Beatle-esque. There is a spiritual message interwoven through the songs, but it is not in-your-face. Malley has been described as the "George Harrison of Counting Crows." Listening to this CD, you'll know why."
