A fantastic collection of diverse masterpieces. The Tchaikovsky gems come from two of his greatest works but are rarely heard unless you go to the ballet. The beautiful Mozart Rondo is also infrequently heard. Yossele Rosenblatt's Recitatives are sublime examples of cantorial music elevated to high art and George Perlman's works are perfect Jewish themed miniatures. In all of these works, as well as in the Paganini and Franck, Richard Locker and his magnificent colleagues give performances of soulful, stylish virtuosity. The CD ends with Torrie Zito's perfectly formed jazz ballad.
