One of the Best Albums Ever Just Got Better!
Frederick Baptist | Singapore | 11/06/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This version of a true classic irregardless of genre is simply remarkable. Not only is the mini-lp sleeve reproduction design just a brilliant work of art but the disc has been very well remastered as well to ensure this album has never looked or sounded better. Worth every penny if you are a true Marvin Gaye fan and a cd collector.

This album was way ahead of it's time and coming from a time when it was unusual to say the least for pop stars to speak out against social injustice on their albums, Marvin Gaye went against the grain and against the strong objections of the record label powers that be and produced an album to last for all time as a work of pop music art! Both Gaye anthems "What's Going On?" and "Mercy, Mercy Me" are here and Gaye's heartfelt and soulful singing on all the tracks here show just how sincerely concerned the man was with what's going on around him and that he was not just sitting back and earning the big bucks unconcerned about anyone or anything else except himself.

A soul album and an album with soul and a keeper. Highly recommended and this is the best version that's out there to get of this album if you don't mind spending a bit more for great packaging and sound."
