Album Description
The West Point Percussion Festival will undoubestly be remembered as one of the most outstanding events of the end of the 20th century. The Festival, held March 27-28, 1998 at West Point, was hosted by the United States Military Academy Band. The concert was performed in the majestic (and huge!) Eisenhower Hall Theatre. The performers in the Festival Orchestra renged from well-known Professors of Percussion at major universities to part-time marimba aficionados; from world-renowned soloists to college students from Anytown USA. The marimbas on stage were a fantastic collection of historic instruments, including almost every conceivable model made during the past sixty years, from vintage to modern.
