"This is some of the finest emotion-soaked, expressive MUSIC that I've had the chance to add to my collection in quite some time. Disc 1, for me, flows from one track to the next as if it were one entire piece of music, stunning. Disc 2 is a nice surprise for experiencing the multi-faceted styles of Mazur's tasty musical excursions. Marilyn's approach to percussion, voice, composition and her next-to-perfect selection of musician line-up is captured here like a fine gem. I recall catching two memorable Marilyn Mazur performances in Copenhagen, Denmark, one prior to and then one directly following her work with Miles Davis. To see/hear her live is like watching a sound scientist as she is sculpting the moment. The 2 disc recording is not only an indication as to why Mazur was recipient of the 2001 JAZZPAR award, it is also one of the finest qualities in 'live' recording that I have heard to date. Anyone who enjoys various genres of expressive music formats; world/jazz/percussion/fusion & more, needs to own "all the birds". Oh yes, quite clever, environment-friendly packaging as well."
