CD Reviews

Forever United
Alex | Cape Town, South Africa | 10/12/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Once again Marian Gold produces some stunning lyrics, music and vocals. DANGER IN YOUR PARADISE is sheer perfection sung with such delicious seduction. It is a brilliant opening to the album. CAROLINE has a lovey ambience with a dreamy melodic tune. MISSIONARY is outstanding. It realy gets to the core. It's hard, harsh and direct. FOR THE SAKE OF LOVE has such clever, witty and pithy lyrics and the techno beat gives the song a vibrant energy. SAY IT AIN'T SO, JOE is pure pleasure in all respects and that includes Marian's voice at its sweetest and finest... One of the tracks on the album is written by David Bowie, but COSMOPOLITICIAN is also reminiscent of David Bowie - another excellent song. Give this album a listen. Marian has one of the best voices in pop music ( if not the best! )"
Stunning!

"Marian Gold has a beautiful voice and a phenomenal range. This is the album from which "Cosmopolitician" originates. A marvelous piece of work and a must-have for any Alphaville fan. I give it four stars because I think Marian Gold's other solo album, "So Long Celeste," is a tad better. Unfortunately "Celeste" has yet to be released in the States, and is in fact out of print."
One of the best singers

"He's got one of the best voics in the music biz and is a very talented song writer. This is one of his two solo albums but he's still singing in Alphaville too. Don't expect too many differences. Marian Gold doesn't go far from Alphaville style, which for me is a good thing. Alphaville always were very good and you can't believe a singer much if he says "ok....and now let's do hardrock" - when he was in a pop group all the time. Marian Gold is an artist who stands for quality and a good output in general."
