"Wow, it's another great duet effort by two great musicians from Brazil; On one hand you have Maestro Marcos Valle, one of the few original monsters from the Bossa Nova era still going super strong, and on the other hand Great Victor Biglione, a master of Jazz guitar.

Their combination here is on the jazzy side (which actually suits both of them perfectly) with the addition of a great singer who has recorded with Marcos lately, Patricia Alvi.

It's absolutely amazing the new arrangements these two have been able to come up with for many of these Bossa Nova gems; playing mostly Marcos' compositions along with other ones from other Maestros like Luiz Bonfa (Manha de Carnaval), Milton Nascimento (Fe Cega, Faca Amolada), Egberto Gismonti (Frevo) etc. etc.

And what strikes me the most out of this recording is: 1) Marcos' voice is amazingly up-to-date; it still sounds like it did 40 years ago when his first hits were emerging, and 2) Saxophonist Jean Pierre Zanella; you have to hear these two to believe it.



My favorite cuts are:

- Azimuth.

- Samba de Verao (perhaps the best version of it I've ever heard)

- Terra de Ninguem

- Gente

- Os Grilos

- Batucada Surgiu



So if you are a fan of: Marcos Valle, a Jazz fan, and/or you love Brazilian music in general, this M U S T be in your collection before it becomes out of reach; you'll absolutely LOVE it."
