"Manny Manuel does it again :

even do this is not the way he started his musical journey and because of the Banco Popular Specials (were he made Querube once again Popular )People were asking him to go into the Boleros, I love his voice and the choice of songs and im very happy he made serenata (his previous album and Nostalgia ) i love all his music but Nostalgia and Serenata are not only a remembrance of the golden era but also part of his Puertorican heritage"

"Manny Manuel, the merenguero of the spectacular voice, has been doing everything but since 1999's Lleno de vida, and the results have generally not been good. The first was the dreadful self titled album of club/dance music, an album of Boleros (actually not too bad, but not overwhelming), and now this recreation of big band sounds from the 40's. I can't say I am a big fan of this music to begin with, but objectively, you have to have a good reason to resurrect old music and re-do it, and Manny does not provide it here. His voice is not suited to the music, sounding strained and uneven, not at all attractive. The arrangements are the same old same old.

If you have ever heard Manny's merengue albums (especially the superb "Autentico") you know what an amazing singer he is, and how wondeful and sophisticated were the arrangements. These albums also include some interesting salsas. It seems many artists are trying to get away from merengue - I don't know why because people like Manny, Olga Tanon, make this sometimes looked down upon form superb and very sophisticated."
