Bomojaz | South Central PA, USA | 02/21/2005 (4 out of 5 stars) "This 2-CD set collects the two Jazz Greats of Our Time LPs originally on Coral from 1957 and a rare Town Hall concert date from 1958 on Dot. Albam always was able to attract some of the best musicians of the day for his recording sessions, and the Jazz Greats dates feature a West Coast group (Conte Candoli, Jack Sheldon, Herb Geller, Richie Kamuca, Charlie Mariano, Shelly Manne, among others) on one and Easterners (Art Farmer, Bob Brookmeyer, Zoot Sims, Al Cohn, Phil Woods, Hank Jones, among others)on the other. Both sessions are equally great. The Town Hall concert is less successful, but just having it available is a pleasure. Recommended."
