"A friend made me listen to 'Generation Terrorists' years ago, when Manic Street Preachers were not really famous yet. And so I bought the CD recently.Wouldn't say I was disappointed, but the album's biggest weakness is its length. 18 songs of melodick poprock are too many. The less good ones had better been left out.Still, there are highlights. Songs like 'Nat West - Barclays - Midlands - Lloyds', 'Motorcycle Emptiness', 'Little Baby Nothing' and 'Spectators Of Suicide' are very good rock compositions - showing that MSP's strongest side was, is, and has always been the semi-ballads!On 'Generation Terrorists', the Welsh band is clearly in the beginning phases of its musical development. The lyrics are already very political, original and interesting, but the music is rock in a kinda very boyish way."
