CD Reviews

Nu-metal done right.
rock 4 da dead | Toronto, Canada | 02/01/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Manic drive is nu-metal that can be compared to bands like linkin park and seether without being as heavy. And while this may sound like something thats been done a million times there is still a lot thats unique about these guys. The vocals for instance are great to listen, the emotion pours throug. The music can go from being heavy(something more, nebulous) to soft(middle of it all, memories) to downright agreesive(Aimlessly, crying) in manic drive uses old methods such as rapping and turn table stuff to make this sound like most nu-metal but it does just enough to distinguish itself with good lyrics and some talented playing."

"I had heard the song Memories on the radio a few times, and everytime I was like - WOW, who is that? So now, I've finally tracked it down and this band rocks this song. I love it...the fact that they've been around for so long (this is the 5th album!) and still have that desire to do this for Christ and actually (gasp!) use His name in their heartfelt songs is AMAZING! My props to them indefinately! Sure, I've only heard bits of the other songs - but Memories is AWESOME! Praise God some of these guys are more interested in following God than making money. Check it out!"
