CD Reviews

Not a Mis-Take
James T. Mott | O'Fallon, MO USA | 05/18/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Now this is ALMOST what I call a boxset. This entire 4-CD box set is well worth the cost. I do wish that some original versions of some classics were thrown in to really bring this box to 5 stars. However, it is an exceptional collection of work by an even more exceptional band.

It runs the gammit of their entire career. The quality is over the top.

The live version of "Redemption Song" is far and above the absolute best track on this whole sha-bang and is worth the cost alone.

If you are a true MMEB fan this set will be a delight in every way. If you are a casual fan, I would suggest that you get a couple of greatest hits packages and Roaring Silence. It seems all the greatest hits packages that I am aware of by MMEB always cut Blinded By The Light down to a single edit and removes a couple minutes of the crucial part of the song.

ENJOY THIS SET TRUE MANFRED MANN'S FANS!"
A great place to start or revisit!

"I first bought this for my brothers 40th birthday. We were big Manfred Man fans during the 70s. I had neglected picking up many of their albums on CD over the years because my brother had them. After hearing this set, I realized I needed to get all of the Earth Band CDs. I bought a copy of this great box set for my self and over the past 3 months picked up all their CDs. What is good about this box set is that it has all the hits and rare stuff for the fans. Also many people will be surprized at how good the later stuff was (much of it was not released in the U.S during the late 80s). After hearing this set you will long for the Earth Bands return to America, unfortunatly they seem to only tour overseas. Realy cool stuff and a great gift for a classic rock fan."
