Synopsis

Album Description
Thee Majesty is the most recent project from former Throbbing Gristle front man and current Psychic TV main man Genesis P-Orridge. Genesis is an artist - pure and simple and through his work, initially with other like-minded and freethinking individuals, he formed Throbbing Gristle. This band almost single-handedly stirred up a hornet?s nest not only in the artistic community but also the music industry and while their gigs became sometimes notorious multi media events, their albums sold incredibly well to a hard-core fanatical audience who saw the band as purveyors of the genre classed as Industrial. Whilst many bands have followed in their wake, Throbbing Gristle were at the cutting edge of this musical genre and also managed to inject an artistic sensibility to the proceedings. Following Genesis calling time on the band in the late seventies, he moved onto his next project, which was called Psychic TV. Psychic TV was on occasion a more mainstream outfit drawing its influences from literary sources but musically could swing wildly from listenable pop music one minute to almost unlistenable white noise! the next and it was perhaps this unpredictability that has attracted so many fans to the band. Psychic TV was even mentioned in the Guinness Book Of World Records when they managed to release 14 live albums in an 18-month period. Their studio work has been no less productive and the band has issued a number of albums over the period in which they have been together. This brings us to Thee Majesty, which is the vision of Genesis P Orridge and covers a more artistic path, which includes spoken word albums. At Stockholm is the latest release from Thee Majesty in the spoken word series of recordings. The album features performances from Genesis P. Orridge and also the Swedish band White stains featuring Thomas Tibert, Carl Abrahamsson and Par Aronsson and comes complete with a booklet containing extensive notes
