Album Description

The tradition of Celtic Yuletide family concerts with Philip and Pam Boulding of Magical Strings, and their five children, began in Seattle in 1979. This gifted musical family has delighted audiences around the Northwest at Yuletide ever since with their festive renditions of carols from Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the world around. This album brings you a selection of some of their favorite pieces over years. It opens, as their Yuletide concerts always do, with `Love Came Down at Christmas,' and closes with 'All Through the Night.' The spirit of Christmas is the spirit of family, and this album conveys the love and joy that belong to the season. --Elise Boulding

"Over the years we've collected a slew of holiday albums. Some we take out for a single favorite song or a humorous oddity. But this album, "Good People All" is a pleasure to listen to from the first track to the last. Great as background music at a small gathering (though it deserves a more attentive run-through) the album presents both a festive lively air and that ancient wonderful wisdom that comes with winter contemplation. Curl up, watch the snow sparkle, and listen."
