"Lynneese "Nesi" Wooten's debut album, Let Him be Your Rooftop, is great!  I saw it in a bookstore at home and picked it up out of curiosity.  That is probably one of the best things that I could have done!  Nesi's voice is fresh and pure, which works well in songs such as "Give me a clean heart" and "I need you to fall on me," contemporary gospel numbers.  Her cd, however, not limited to the contemporary gospel sound; her title piece "Let Him be Your Rooftop" exhibits her usage of one of the more traditional choir-soloist, call-and- response pieces.
While she doesn't have many compilations on the album, Nesi does have a tribute to her grandmother, Mama Butler, who also has a track on the cd, "He's my rooftop," where the passing down of vocal talents is evident. If you are looking for an album that relieves the soul and offers something for all ages, Lynnesse Wooten's "Let Him Be your Rootop" is the album for you."
