Synopsis

Product Description
The word legend applies to Lydia Pense & Cold Bloodand not in some past-tense-make-a-living-as-an-oldies-act sort of way either. Pense still shouts like a 60s soul diva and can purr a slow blues tune with spine-tingling subtlety. This is a band with a storied past and an exciting future. Cold Bloods big debut came at the Fillmore West, where owner Bill Graham was so impressed that he immediately signed them to his new record labeland the rest is history.Live Blood was recorded at the Sunbanks Music Festival in Washington State, and captures the band in their most natural of habitats: on stage and smokin. Live Blood is what Cold Blood fans have been waiting forlightning in a bottle, laid down by a tight six-piece band, fronted by the incomparable Ms. Pense. Live Blood stays true to the throbbing, thumping, horn-laced tunes for which the band has come to be known.

CD Reviews

It's what you wanted

"It's Cold Blood Live and as great as you though it would be. Great music and you know the vocals are out of this world. If your a long time Cold Blood fan you are going to love Live Blood, it has everything that we love about this wonderful group of players. Someone needs to get these guys to come to the East Coast!"
COLD BLOODED

"I first saw Cold Blood in 1970 or 71 at Keaney Gym at URI. They were opening for Santana who at the time had all those radio hits.

Well Cold Blood came out and BAM they hit it and they didn't stop until their show was over. Santana came out and every song of their's sounded like the one before. I left about a quarter through the Santana part of the concert.

But I was a Cold Blood fan for life. A hot blonde chic who could belt the bajeeba's out of a tune. A rythym section who sound like a diesel truck. With a horn section that blew like a funky hurricane. KILLERS. The name Cold Blood fit them perfectly. I ran out the next day looking for their album. And I wore it out.

Well this CD captures the essence of that show. Each tune on this CD is dead on in performace and sound. They are definitely one of the best R&B funky horn bands around and even to this day as this CD will prove."
They Are Back

"If you were into the Bay area scene back in the early 70's, then you must be familiar with Cold Blood and Tower of Power. They were on the same label, and I was not disappointed. This is a good cd by Cold Blood/Lydia Pensce. I loved all thier cds, so all I can say, is while it is available, get it from Amazon. Anyone who has ever taken the time to write a review, knows we do not get paid to endorse any product. I would be surprised if one did not like some of the familiar tunes as well as the others"
