Since Their formulation in 2003, Lucius Clay has been cultivating a loyal fan base through their energetic live performances. Over the years the band has fine-tuned its unique brand of electro funk rock and delivers it with a high caliber of musicianship at their captivating live shows. The four original members, Peter Lack (keys, vocals); Tim Halpin (guitar, vocals); Frank DePalma (drums, vocals) and Sean Mugrage (bass, vocals) hale from different parts of the country and come from different schools of music. The melding of these different backgrounds with the common love of funk is what drives this unpretentious well-tuned groove machine. Their self-titled debut CD release was very well received and earned them a spot on the Portland based WPD-Exposed music spotlight, which was filmed locally and will be aired this summer. The band members will tell you that their real success story was writing a song about the Dali Lama and having the good fortune to be able to present it to his holiness. The band has just started laying down tracks for their second CD, which should be available mid August. Whether credit in nirvana or on the dance floor these guys are bound for glory.
