Impressive album - Great vocals, melodies and rythms
Ricardo Carreon Quinones | Sao Paulo, Brazil | 09/19/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"LU's debut album, LU is a very impressive work by a brand new artist. LU's album has wonderful melodies for pretty much all of the album. In some songs, the sounds remind me a bit of the Mexican pop of the 80's, but mixed with more contemporary sounds, infectious rythms, much more refined creativity and very capable vocals. Songs such as "Duele", "Grita" and "Se" are very powerful -- try buying one or two and I'm sure you will be engaged. The lyrics are also very good and get you in from the first hearing (of course they are in spanish).

I think this is definitively one of the artists to watch in the spanish pop scene."

"You'll love this sound. It's fresh and the lyrics are great. I loved the harmonies. This is a memorable and wonderful debut album for LU. I look forward to their next effort!"
Great Sound and Lyrics

"I just got this CD and can tell you it's the best Spanish speaking duet I've heard in a long time. Both members of LU, Paty and Mario have great voices and there is something about them that blends well, making beautiful harmonies. Mario and Paty wrote all the songs on the album and there are some fun and beautiful ones. I personally like the first single, Duele, the song SE, which has great lyrics (I read it was based on a letter Paty wrote), Confusion and Sera. All other songs are great, but these stand out. LU's Duele video is also fun. The album was produced by Aureo Baqueiro, who has rightfully earned quite a name for himself for his work with other successful groups such as Sin Bandera and Natalia Lafourcade. I highly reccomend this album and look forward to great things from this band in the future."
