Synopsis

Album Description
UK two disc (CD + NTSC/Region 0 DVD) edition. Originally released in 1967, Love's Forever Changes album is now considered a bonafide classic. It constantly appears on critics' lists of the Top Ten albums of all time and its fusion of Folk-Rock and Psychedelia has influenced a generation of musicians. In January 2003, Arthur Lee returned to London to perform Forever Changes in its entirety at the Royal Festival Hall. Following years in the wilderness, the gigs marked the start of an unlikely and remarkable comeback. The gigs were instantly hailed by critics as truly outstanding, matching the quality and importance of the original work. This CD/DVD set captures this special evening perfectly and comes housed in a luxury rigid digi-book.

CD Reviews

Music great but not all here yet again

(4 out of 5 stars)

"The last edition of the Forever Changes concert came in 2 versions without any indication on the packaging, or explanation anywhere. The difference was in the bonus tracks. Each version had 4 non-forever changes tracks filmed on the tour, different ones on each cd, so you had to buy 2 cds to get all 8 - it was just luck that I found out, as I was buying a few copies for family and friends as there no way of telling which bonus tracks were on the dvd. Also there was a HIDDEN (yes, weird! read about it in reviews of the older edition of the dvd) bonus track common to both - Singing cowboy.

So, to get to the point - when I saw this advertised I rather hoped it would have ALL the bonus tracks gathered together But no! We get 5 out of 9 - missing are August, Signed DC, My little Red Book and the aforementioned Singing Cowboy, which funnily enough are by far the best of the bonus tracks. What a joke. I suppose there aren't vast fortunes to be got out of Love fans, so I doubt it's really an attempt to milk us for as much as possible - just incompetence, or indifferent thoughtlessness on the part of whoever is responsible for these. Not good enough!

I'm reluctant to give this less than five stars, but really for the above reasons this should get one star, but considering the quality of what is on it is worth about 100 stars - a protest 4 stars.
