"After being out of print since the early 7o's, the Lorraine Ellison collection is available with excellent remastering. The first two cd's of this set contain all recordings from her 3 albums plus a couple of songs Lorraine did for the movie "The Landlord". There are more than a few out takes or unreleased songs. Special emphasis must be placed on her first studio recordings because her musical arrangements were done by Oliver Nelson. The third cd contains demos with what is probably Lorraine accompanying herself on piano. This woman sang with so much soul that God took her from this world so she could sing for Him in heaven with the angels. Thank heaven that these recordings exist. One caution, "Peace Be Still" has a tracking error on the cd or maybe I got a bad copy. All else is splendid."
Singer is reborn! Let's keep her music alive!

"I placed an order with Amazon last October but the order was delayed several times. I couldn't wait and ultimately obtained the CD from a different source. I am happy to see that Amazon now has it in stock for all to get a chance to hear one of the most talented singers/artists of our time. Several of her renditions of songs are now being copied by other artists. Here is your chance to hear the original songstress sing "Stay with Me" and many other beautiful and uplifting songs. It is a great gift for anyone who loves music. I am so pleased that her music is again available for us to hear! Buy it! Buy it! Buy it! This artist was able to sing jazz, R& B,soul and gospel music so movingly, that her songs will touch your inner core. I wish she was alive today to do concerts, but the next best thing is to listen to her music on this new CD. Also, get her original albums - Ellison Singers, Stay with Me and Heart and Soul! You will not regret it. She was way ahead of her time. She had such a powerful voice. Now I think we are ready to hear her music again!! The CD also has a nice write-up about her life as well. Highly recommended!"
