Alive in this Dream is a collection of eleven songs including the alt/pop anthem "Free"--which garnered medium and heavy rotations in New York and Boston college radio stations prior to the full-length CD release. This second CD by singer/songwriter Lori Hawk is an introspective collection of stories delivered in a modern folk-rock style. "Listening for You", the opening track on Alive in this Dream, is a Celtic-influenced ballad with Eastern undertones. "Princess Mary," a twist on the Mary Queen of Scots story, is laden with piano riffs and vocal acrobatics. The title song, "Alive" features dark keyboard orchestration, 12-string guitar, and a weave of vocals and harmonies.
