Whether it's meant to shock or educate or both, it's one of the few moments of drama on this otherwise fairly straightforward disc of glam-manqué death rock. Singer Sean Brennan possesses a vocal timbre somewhere between that of Peter Murphy and Axl Rose, used to pretty good effect on sultry rockers like "Spider and the Fly" and "Sacrifice." The rest of the band supports him adequately, but the disc is marred by thin production values that probably should have been fixed for this reissue. Fans will appreciate this document of the band's early days, but newcomers should check out the more recent Psycho Magnet for a better sense of what LAM are capable of. --Steve Landau Similarly Requested CDs

All songs are not just the simple "In Death we'll be together" or the distorted one chord guitar pieces that make other music boring and plain *all the same*. They did very well on this CD especially on "This Paradise" as it became one of my favorite songs the minute I heard it. This CD truly is a dark treasure to any musical grimoire you have at home." London After Midnight, WAY above average 06/02/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "I was finally able to locate this hard to find CD through Amazon and I tell you - it was well worth the wait. I have been long time fan of the band but this particular CD eluded me until now. I am surprised to read that the previous reviewer thought the song "Revenge" was bland, because this is by far one of the most intense alternative songs of the '90s. I read an interview with the songwriter from a German magazine where he wrote of his inspiration and influence with this song, in particular the infamous "girl getting whipped" part of the song, and the fact that it eludes to "Jesus Christ Superstar" years before Marilyn Manson ever thought of doing it, something only the savvy-est of listeners would catch. This is the most intense song on the CD, but not the end of the bright spots. Just about every other song is entertaining, with great lyrics which tread in the deep end of wit to the dark corners of despair. Highly Recommended."
