"It's titled the "Sarah Vaughan Songbook," but Lola Haag owns it. Lola's interpretations blend Vaughan's soul and improvisational ornaments with the vocal gentleness of the best of Doris Day. (Listen to how Lola folds the brass out of passages like "Don't Blame Me" and think Day). Except for an occasional undermuted trumpet, Lola Haag's "Songbook" is the early evening solution to a troublesome day. Haag and a merlot - the perfect start to something great. Give in."
