"This is more like it. Although I have enjoyed the PLP studio albums that I own, after seeing them live I never really thought the studio stuff did the band justice. With the release of "Live In America" fans of the band really get a taste of what they are all about in a live setting. The album was recorded at several shows in both North and South America and I was privileged enough to be in attendance at one of them, ProgDay 1998. In fact the majority of this album was recorded at ProgDay and I can attest that the band was really smoking that hot September afternoon. Par and company re-create their complex symphonic progressive rock very well in a live setting and many of the tracks get an added aggressiveness that suites the material well. This album presents a nice overview of the band's career and also includes several covers including "Jerusalem", "Rondo" (both best known as Emerson Lake And Palmer recordings) along with King Crimson's "21st Century Schizoid Man". The playing is all top notch and the recording is crisp and clear. If you have ever wanted to check out what this band is all about or are a fan of ELP style progressive rock, this is the album to check out."
