CD Reviews

"Test of Patience" would be a more appropriate title
Kevin Ford | Sydney, Australia | 05/25/2006
(1 out of 5 stars)

"Don't be fooled by the name of the band. This is a latter-day cover band that inherited the name from the founders and innovators of Little River Band. The current incarnation includes no original members, and none of the voices and songwriters responsible for their numerous hits and classics. The mediocrity on this album discredits the name, the reputation and the legacy of one of the classiest bands of the past thirty years. Do yourself a favour and seek out the extensive catalog of the ORIGINAL members. Better yet, check out "Full Circle": the recent DVD and CD by Birtles Shorrock Goble ("BSG"), the original singers and songwriters of Little River Band."
A landmark album from one of LRB's finest lineups
Shane Sullivan | Gosford, NSW Australia | 12/31/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"On "The Test Of Time", LRB covers a lot of musical ground. Overall, the record is rootsier and rawer than most previous LRB releases. There are a number of country influenced songs, a cover of Cold Chisel's "Forever Now" in the cool, jazzy style of the 2000 version of Night Owls, some very catchy AC pop songs, and a couple great ballads. The album deserves many listens from start to finish. Every song tells a story. This is a very enjoyable album that shows a band that is genuinely demonstrating growth with each new song they write, perform and record. Wayne Nelson's production is, as always, brilliant."
