Synopsis

Product Description
Chamomile Tea is the second album composer and lyricist Dana Paul Robinson has created with the extraordinarily gifted Lisa Hindmarsh. Their first production, Hello Again, was such a success that their fans urged them to press ahead with their fruitful collaboration. The experience has been so positive (and even seductive) that they are contemplating a third album. Trained as a musician and vocalist, Ms. Hindmarsh interprets these original Robinson tunes with unmatched skill and sensitivity. It will be immediately obvious to new listeners that she is a serious artist who both commands and gives respect for vocal jazz. Prepare yourselves for an unforgettable experience. Robinson has been writing songs for almost half a century. He was fortunate to be raised on the likes of Porter, Gershwyn, Kern and Berlin. Indeed, many who hear his material liken him to these giants. Even so, the tunes are fresh, the melodies memorable, and the lyrics teasingly sophisticated and remarkably tender. The quality of the recording is enhanced richly by the talents of the pianist/arranger Michael Frank, the woodwinds of Skipp Spratt, the horns of Michale Billingsley, the bass playing of Steve Beskrone, and the percussionist Frank Gattis, creative geniuses all! To make a great thing even greater, the recording was engineered by David Schonauer at the MorningStar Studios outside of Philadelphia and mixed and masterd by Glenn Barratt in the same location. The songs themselves run the gamut from the sassy "Single Man" to the hypnotic "A Guy Like You" to the playful "Are There Any More" through the worldy "Chamomile Tea". Watch for the third CD!
