Poised to become a jazz superstar Liane Carroll won two BBC Jazz Awards in 2005, the first time anyone has ever achieved that. "Standard Issue" is her greatest album. Singer/pianist Liane has enlisted the help some heavyweight guests, top vocalist Ian Shaw, leading guitarist John Parricelli and one of the greatest jazz musicians Britain has ever produced, tenor saxophonist Bobby Wellins. Recorded at Abbey Road on a new Steinway Concert Grand, described as the best studio piano in the UK, "Standard Issue" features an original song from Liane together with an ecletic collection of songs from the likes of Harold Arlen, Tom Waits, George Gershwin and Laura Nyro. Liane is heard solo, in vocal duet, and trio with Roger Carey (bass) and Gregg Leppard (bass).
