CD Reviews

Incredible vocals and awesome lead guitar
Toshio Whelchel | Los Angeles | 10/30/2007

"I saw Lez Zeppelin in concert at the El Rey theater in Los Angeles and they were amazing. I danced and jumped so hard to their music it was an amazing expreience. I ordered the cd the following day and have been playing it everyday as I sit in my office and do my work. The recording is as good as their live performance. If you love listening to Led you must go out and see Lez Zeppelin next time their in town. The lead vocalist has the most enchanting spell binding voice I have ever heard. The lead guitarist shreds the strings so hard you literally watch them burn. The drummer wails and slams and keeps a hard beat along with the bassist. All in all, you will love this cd. Play it loud at home and dance. Play it loud in your office and dance in the halls. Love you girls."
Oh God, WHY!???
R. Bibeau | 11/13/2008

"Having just heard this entire CD, I ask the simple question, "WHY!???" Citing as an example, the Gus Van Sant '98, 'shot-for-shot' remake of "Psycho", recently deemed one of the worst movies EVER, "WHY!??" Why would anyone listen or play this CD more than once, and strictly as a novelty.

Having attended at least ten LED Zeppelin concerts from the sixties through the seventies, this effort can't hold a candle to the original band. Like biting into a wax apple, these cuts are vacuous shadows of Zep originals. Riding on the back of the beat of each tune, they lack the pure, up tempo delivery, and raw energy of the forty year old classic renditions.

Being a drummer, from a family of seven drummers, I'm especially taken back by the lackluster, mediocre leadership this drummer delivers next to Bonham's (still) unmatched riffs and driving style. Never mind every additional Zep element that has been watered down just to pull this album off.

Music rule no. 1, if you can't cut the original tracks, EXACTLY, don't try. Interpret the originals, where your own style can give each cut fresh energy. I have a cut of me and some friends playing "Since I've Been Loving You", as an impromptu jam, almost 30 years ago, that I would put up against ANY cut on this CD. Email me and I'll send it to you.

As I've read additional reviews of this CD, I can only guess NONE of these people have seen LED Zeppelin. They are "Music-Legends" for a reason. Like the Beatles, NO other band, and NO other musicians have even come close to their level of musicianship, in over forty years. They used to perform a 3 hour concert, then come out for at least 3-4 encores.

I'd rather have heard LEZ Zeppelin record an interpreted homage to Zep, concentrating on what THEY do best, while copping signatory clips of the originals. Instead of this unoriginal, weak, and full-on imitation. Like the band Heart used to do. Them I can listen to, and enjoy their efforts.

Until all LED Zep's CDs/DVDs disappear off of the planet, I'll always listen to the best rock band in history's versions. I've also been an Eddie Kramer fan for over forty years, but as to his motivation for producing this CD, and as far as listening to this CD ever again... WHY!???"

"This is the most incredible cd. The girls have an incredible edge. I like them even better than Led Zeppelin!"
