In addition to Leroy Jones, the musicians include: Lucien Barbarin on trombone (whose uncle, Paul Barbarin, wrote Bourbon Street Parade), Ed Frank on piano, Shannon Powell on drums, Bill Huntington on bass, Walter Payton on bass, and Matt Perkins on congas. The following is an excerpt from the album's liner notes: "I remember Leroy [Jones] years ago in New Orleans. He was always regarded as the greatest. No one could touch him. For young musicians like me, he was exciting, intimidating. For the older ones, he was the keeper of the flame. But Leroy did more than keep the flame. He started a forest fire..."
