Synopsis

Album Description
Alto-saxophonist Leo Wright got his start in Dizzy Gillespie's band in 1959, but by the time he released Soul Talk in 1970 (recorded by legendary producer Tom Dowd) for Atlantic/Vortex Records, he already had several "soul jazz" albums under his own name. Features Blue Note guitarist Kenny Burrell, B-3 organ maverick Gloria Coleman, and rounding out this soulful quartet is drummer Frankie Dunlop, best known for playing on many classic Thelonious Monk titles.

"a genuinely good recording for anyone who enjoys organ-sax or organ-guitar combos in the era of jimmy smith with dave burrell, stanley turrentine with shirley scott, and gene ammons with eddie lockjaw davis.
