CD Reviews

Why has this never been reissued?
drwam | La Canada, CA USA | 05/08/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This translation is by Sheldon Harnick is brilliantly entertaining and witty. The fact that anyone would use any other translation is inexplicable and inexcusable. Also inexcusable is that when Sills died a couple of years ago, there was no move to re-release this recording (or much else for that matter). Sills was a major figure and the recording companies let her go without a proper sendoff."
Harnick translation makes this worth picking up

"Originally an LP recorded in 1978, EMI released this on CD in the early days of the format but once the limited quantity sold out no more were pressed. Odd in that the new translation by Sheldon Harnick is quite good and this was one of Sills' finest performances. Worth picking up, but in 20 years of collecting I have rarely seen it show up in used CD stores."
