"Thirty-one years after Clara Ward's death and twenty-two years after her mother's death (Gertrude Ward), the Ward Singers still happen to be one of the greatest Gospel groups that has ever existed.



In 1991, Willa Ward, Clara's sister who was also a member of the Ward Singers, gave several members of the later group (Mildred Means, Vermettya Royster, Alice Houston, Madeline Thompson, Agnes Jackson, and Shirley Corley) permission to record a CD that featured several of the Ward Singers' greatest hits. Included on this disc are:

I really enjoy this CD, though I'm not too fond of the song arrangements. I feel that in many cases, nothing is better than the original recording. But this proved that after 30 years, the Ward Singers still had their spunk! If you're fortunate to come across this CD, you should definately grab it, because it is truly hard-2-find!"
