Album Description

Originally issued on two Vee Jay albums, 'Here's Lee Morgan' (1960) & 'Expoobident' (1961), these 13 tracks were recorded at two sessions in 1960, the first in New York, the later one in Chicago. Drummer Art Blakey & saxophonist Clifford Jordan supported Morgan at both dates, with Wynton Kelly or Eddie Higgins respectively featured on piano & Paul Chambers or Art Davis sharing bass duties. "This is actually HERE'S LEE MORGAN/EXPOOBIDENT two Vee-Jay sessions from the early 60's with Clifford Jordan on tenor sax for both sessions and no alternate takes. Lee's boss at the time, Art Blakey is on drums for both sessions also. It's pretty typical hard bop plus a couple of ballads."
