"Live in Baltimore with a rhythm section led by pianist John Hicks. This is a great somwhat, but not really low-keyed set, but after some of the tracks on THE NIGHT OF THE COOKERS we need a little break. Lee sounds great in any key, and plays no flugelhorn as on some tracks from both Lighthouse sessions. While Cliff was not a full-flegged hardbopper, he gets the job done. The tracks are long 20-15-15-20- practically 2 lps on 1 cd---- More live Lee with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers can be found on COMPLETE CONCERT AT CLUB SAINT GERMAIN----AT THE JAZZ CORNER OF THE WORLD----MEET YOU AT THE JAZZ CORNER OF THE WORLD, each is a 2 CD set. There's more, mostly from the latter unit with Wayne Shorter, but the tunes start repeating themselves, from the studio sessions as well. Check the tracklistings from the Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers-Live section. All the one's recorded abroad from 1958-1961 are with Lee."
