CD Reviews

Nice box to hold my CDs

(2 out of 5 stars)

"This has absolutely no new content except for the box they put the CDs in. This box set contains Layzie Bone's It's Not A Game album (The black cover version, which has the song Ain't No Waitin' as track four instead of Do Your Thang) and 100% Pure Thug Tour (CD and DVD two disc set). Even if I didn't have both these CDs already I still would only give it one more star. It's Not A Game in itself is sort of a "Best Of" album, where half the songs on it were previously released. I don't know why they decided to bundle this set with the 100% Pure Thug Tour since it's more of a compilation than a real Layzie Bone album. He's only featured on a few tracks with other artists. Krayzie and Bizzy make guest appearances on a couple of tracks as well. Still doesn't warrant the label of being a Bone album. The DVD isn't that great of a bonus either. Although it contains some Bone Thugs-N-Harmony concert videos and interviews, the whole thing was shot by an amateur; very poor quality and very shaky. I guess they couldn't sell enough copies individually so they repackaged them, selling two mediocre albums for the price of one. However, like I said it's not all bad. The box the CDs come in consists of two pieces, a top piece and a bottom piece, and is made of a very thick sturdy cardboard. It's black with a sticker of the coverart on the top lid of the box, and another sticker with the track listings on the bottom lid of the box. If you don't like the CDs that came with it you can put in two of your own, or you don't have to put CDs inside, you could also put things like jewelry or other knick knacks instead."
